The Heart of Extrusion Production
The COEX extruder is designed specifically for delicate confectionery recipes that require low-shear processing. This twin-screw, counter-rotating machine is the foundation for Extrufood’s production lines, handling everything from fruit snacks and licorice to hard candies and caramels with high precision.
Advanced Thermal Management
The cylinder features a dual-zone design: a cooking zone and a vacuum/cooling zone. While the machine uses electrical heating during start-up, it transitions to a highly efficient state once in operation. The internal friction generated by the screws provides a significant portion of the cooking heat, cutting electrical energy requirements by 30–40%.
Streamlined Maintenance and Control
- Easy Access: The barrel and screws can be dismounted for maintenance or inspection without removing the extruder from the production line.
- Plug-and-Play Installation: All components (including de-aeration, tempering, and dosing systems) are wired to a single connection point for rapid setup.
- Industry Standards: The control systems are powered by either Siemens or Allen-Bradley, ensuring compatibility with global manufacturing standards.
Technical Features
- Construction: Stainless steel base frame with integrated gearbox and electrical drive.
- Integrated Systems: Includes color and flavor dosing, as well as a screen changer for mass purity.
- Versatility: Capable of handling a wide array of masses including fruit-based snacks and fat-based fillings.
